History
In 1994, Perthshire Housing Association launched Highland Perthshire Care & Repair with an office in Pitlochry. After the success of the pilot scheme, the office moved to Blairgowrie in 1998. Its services extended to cover East Perthshire and the project was renamed Highland and East Perthshire Care & Repair. In 2004 and with the number of cases rising rapidly, the service expanded to cover Perth city centre and Carse of Gowrie. The service is now based in Perth at Perthshire Housing Association offices in St John's Place.
Perthshire Care & Repair aims to:-
Provide practical help and advice for older or disabled homeowners so that they can repair, improve or adapt their homes and stay comfortably in their community. Contribute to improving the quality of housing for the elderly and reducing the number of houses in the area which are below tolerable standard. Increase the take-up of repair and improvement grants by the elderly. Provide quality advice on housing matters. Refer people to other agencies where appropriate.
